The SMART Process

Engagement Process
Below is an outline of our typical engagement process. Each engagement will vary in nature and from customer to customer, depending on the specifics of your organization. However, the total time commitment, not including training time, is expected to be less than 4 to 5 hours of your time for the entire process.

  1. Initial engagement
    A Benchmark Learning representative will meet with your organization’s subject matter experts and sponsors to provide an initial overview of the tool and process.

  2. Discuss SMART Assessment Process A short demonstration will be scheduled for you to gain an understanding of the ease-of-use and benefits of Benchmark Learning ’s assessment tool.

  3. Choose individuals in IT department to assess
    At this point, you will select the individuals in your organization and project team to be assessed.

  4. Engage with Benchmark Learning (Time commitment: approx. 30 minutes)
    Benchmark Learning will follow up with you (either in person or via conference call) to work through the SMART assessment tool process.

  5. Assessment Definition (Time commitment: approx. 1 hour)
    Together, you and Benchmark Learning will define and build the skills matrix for your organization’s assessment. Benchmark Learning will work directly with you in designing the specifics around the project requirements.

  6. Take the Assessment (Time commitment: approx. 10-30 minutes)
    Benchmark Learning will send you an email with the URL for the assessment, and the identified individuals in your organization will take the assessment. Benchmark Learning will then analyze the report and create a learning plan for your organization based on its needs.

  7. Benchmark Learning reviews the learning solution with you (Time commitment: approx. 1 hour)
    The Benchmark Learning Account Manager will review the plan, and then convene with you either in person or via web cast. During this meeting, Benchmark Learning will review with you the prescribed learning options available to you.

  8. Select learning solution
    At this point, based on the results of the learning plan, you can choose from a variety of training solutions including:

    • Customized instructor-led training class
    • Public courses at Benchmark Learning or a local CTEC
    • Self-study learning delivered through Mentored Learning
    • Microsoft Press Books
  From this selection, we will then work with your team to customize a solution based on your results to maximize your training as well as minimize your time away for your project goals and initiatives.
